Our Values:

The core values in our lives determine what we really believe and how we really live. Unless our values are based on the scriptures, we find ourselves just conforming to the values in our culture. The following values give CLC the foundation for a relationship based church.

1. PREPARING FOR THE HARVEST
The Lord promises to pour out His Spirit in the last days. A time draws near when the Lord will draw multitudes into His Kingdom. He is calling His church to prepare new wineskins to contain the new wine that will be poured out.
Matt. 9:37; Matt 9:17; John 4:35

2. TEACHING OTHERS TO KNOW JESUS
Many people know about Jesus, but He is calling us to know Him personally and then help others to do the same. Life in cell groups can provide a spiritual atmosphere for believers to know and experience Him in everyday life. Matt. 9:38; John 17:3

3. OUTREACH
Jesus came to seek and save that which was lost. One of the purposes of cell life is to reach out beyond ourselves which helps to bring life to the Body of Christ.
Mark 1:17; 2 Tim. 4:5

4. DISCIPLESHIP
The mandate from our Master is to make disciples (followers of Christ). Cell life provides the opportunity for every believer to be actively involved in making disciples and being discipled through mentor relationships.
Matt. 18:19-20

5. SPIRITUAL PARENTING
There are many teachers today, but fewer spiritual fathers and mothers to nurture young believers. Cell groups are spiritual families and just like natural families, healthy spiritual families expect their children to eventually become parents themselves.
1 Cor. 4:15-17; 1 John 2:12-14.

6. THE CHURCH IS NOT THE BUILDING
We resist the “holy building” myth. The church is a body of believers (called out ones). Jesus said He will build His church, and was not speaking of a physical building, but of a people. His church met from house to house and publicly.
Matt. 16:18; Act 20:20

7. EVERY BELIEVER IS A MINISTER
We resist the “holy man” myth with the belief that the pastor or leaders of the church are solely responsible for the work of the ministry. God has given each of His children gifts, talents and abilities to build His Kingdom and the leaders are required to equip every believer for the works of service. Cell groups are an effective avenue for releasing these gifts and serving one another.
Eph. 4:11-12

8. BUILDING TRUST IN RELATIONSHIPS
The New Testament church is built on trust and relationships, instead of meetings and programs. First and foremost, we trust God. Then we grow to trust others with whom we serve. Cell groups become a rich environment to encourage and strengthen trust and relationships among God’s people.
1 Pet. 2:5; Eph. 4:16

9. EXPECTING SPIRITUAL GROWTH & MULTIPLICATION
God commands that we be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth. Everything with life will multiply. Believers who lead others to Christ multiply, cells multiply, and churches multiply to sustain life. The key to embracing this healthy principle is to expect it to happen.
Gen. 1:28; Acts 6:1-7; 9:31

10. OUR LIBERTY IN CHRIST (Flexibility and Creativity)
Our God values flexibility and creativity and we do too! No two snowflakes are alike and no two cells are the same either. We all embrace the same Biblical principles, but may walk them out differently in each cell family.

11. EMPOWERING GOD’S PEOPLE
Jesus promised His disciples they would do greater works than He did, and that includes us! He has empowered us to do the works of God in our generation. Wise church leaders empower cell servants as ministers of our Lord Jesus Christ and wise cell servants empower cell members in the same way.
John 14;12; 2 Tim. 2:2

12. GOD IS BUILDING TEAMS IN HIS CHURCH TODAY
Teamwork is modeled and learned in a healthy cell group. We were created to be interdependent. We need each other! Cell life promotes an experience of encouragement as we work together as a team.
2 Thess. 1:1; 1 Cor. 12:28; Amos 3:3
