| Q. How
long ago did your church begin ? |
| A. |
Our
pastors returned to Sherwood from the Dallas
area with a vision from the Lord to raise up a
cell church from the harvest. The church began
as a Friday night Bible study in 1991. As that
group began to affect the lives of their
families and those around them in their
workplaces and neighborhoods, the need grew for
the addition of a Sunday service. We now have a
corporate service bi-weekly on Friday nights, with cell
group meetings and other activities during the
week.

are a non-denominational church under the
apostolic covering of Dove
Christian Fellowship International, providing
direction and oversight to cell churches and
missionaries throughout the world. |

What is a
Cell Church ?

|
| A. |
Just
as in our physical bodies where many cells work
together to bring life, we consider
"cells" to be the most basic
foundation of life. Each "Cell Group"
is a basic unit of life. A "Cell
Church" is a church that seeks to minister
to the world through small groups of people
called "Cells." Each "Cell
Group" is made up of about 10-15 adults and
their families who are committed to helping each
other grow deeper in their relationship with
Jesus Christ. These groups do many of the same
activities as the corporate church. Cell
groups meet weekly for worship, Bible study,
prayer, to encourage each other, and to
participate together in fun activities. The
members of the Cell group share in life together
through committed relationships. The
primary objectives of the Cell group is to help
build the Life of Christ in each member, to
develop and release spiritual gifts, and to make
disciples who will take the responsibility for
reaching the world around them. |

| Q. How
long are your services ? |
| A. |
We
meet corporately bi-weekly to celebrate
Jesus and what He is doing. This Celebration
Service begins at 7:00 p.m. and lasts
approximately an hour and a half. (7:00 p.m. til
8:45 p.m.) |
|
|
| Q.
What are your services like ? |
| A. |
The
Celebration Service is a great time together of
praise and worship, followed by practical
instruction for daily Christian living from the
Word, shared by our Pastor, Elders or other
Church Leaders. |
|
|
| Q.
What are your doctrines ? |
| A. |
We
believe that the Holy Bible is the infallible,
inspired Word of God. We believe that Christ was
born of a virgin. We believe in the death,
burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and
that we are saved by grace through faith.
We believe in water baptism, and in the fullness
of the ministry of the Holy Spirit in and
through each member of the body. We believe that
someday, Jesus Christ will return for His
church. |
|
|
| Q. What
is your music like ? |
| A. |
Our
music varies from upbeat, contemporary praise to
quiet, reverent worship. We believe in Psalm 150
worship - a variety of instruments and singers. |
|
|
| Q.
What do you have for the children ? |
| A. |
During
the celebration time the children are served
through our Nursery (Infant to 2½ years),
pre-school classes (2½ to 3½ and 3½ to 5
years), and Children's Church (5 through 11
years). Our Children's Ministry teams lead
the children as they share together through
activities and lessons overseen by our
Children's Pastor. They learn about Jesus from
stories in the Word, make crafts related to what
they are learning, worship together, pray for
each other, and enjoy some free play time
together. |
|
|
| Q.
What do you have for adolescents and teens ? |
| A. |
We
have 2 youth cells where teens minister to one
another on today's issues of peer pressure,
parent relationships, drugs, sex, and everyday
struggles, with guidance from the Youth
Ministers. These gatherings bring us into a
closer relationship with one another and with
God. We have met in bowling alleys, homes,
mountains, parks, amusement centers etc., and
continue to look for new and exciting places to
praise our God. However, our belief is that the
main responsibility for discipling all children
belongs to the parents of each child. |

|
| Q. What
should I wear ? |
| A. |
We
are casual. You'll find a lot more jeans than
ties, and you will almost never find our Pastor
in a tie. Come as you are and be comfortable ! |
|
|
| Q. If
I come to church would you make me wear a button
? |
| A. |
Absolutely
not! We understand that visiting a church for
the first time can be intimidating. We
promise that we will make every effort to make
you feel comfortable and provide you with a
positive, upbeat, personal and meaningful
experience. |
