The founder
and Sr. Elder of CLC is Ted Walker and his wife Jana who received
direction from the Lord in 1990 to establish a work in Arkansas. Ted
grew up in Sherwood, but resided in Dallas, TX for much of his adult
life. The beginning of CLC was the salvation and transformation of
several of his co-workers at a local hardware store in Sherwood. The
need for discipleship and belonging grew in the hearts of those
converts. A Friday night bible study was formed and quickly grew into a
corporate body of believers which is now Christian Life Church. The
vision God gave was to raise up a church from the harvest field and that is what
took place! His plan and purposes will prevail!
Today, we are a non-denominational body of believers that believe in a
spirit filled life and the great commission. Our desire is to fulfill
the purpose of God for this local body by:
- Meeting from house to house in small
family groups that allow for spiritual growth and godly fellowship. In
these groups, mentoring, worship, encouragement, and loving one another
takes place on a bi-weekly basis in Cabot, Jacksonville, Sherwood and
North Little Rock.
- Meeting the needs of this local community in any way that we are equipped.
- Focusing on outreach to this generation in a cultural and relevant way.
- Kingdomizing our region by "being" the church, not just "attending" church.
- Covering our region in intercessory prayer.
